Faith Deliverance Holiness Apostolic Church of God was founded on Easter Sunday April 10, 1995. Approximately 20 years before the birth of Faith Deliverance, Elder Vera M. Miller had a great vision regarding the birth of Faith Deliverance.
Faith Deliverance began with a meeting around a living room table at 25 Grace Street in Danville. Shortly after that we purchased our first building at 408 Cherry Streets. After the tragic demise of our roof collapsing and the insurance company refusing to honor our claim, we were left churchless. God opened up a door where we could use the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sunday mornings. It was only available once a week, but we were thankful. After a period of time god sent us to worship at Garfield Park recreation center, where we stayed for approximately 2 years until forced out related to the future demolition of the facility. We then move to 140 S. Crawford Street in 2000 and began to go on with our ministry. Through all of this we stayed faithful to God believing that He would bring us out. God then blessed us with a vacant church building with the option to buy. The owner was liquidating, so we were able to purchase the building with cash and burn the deeds.
Although we have had many trials and tribulations God has continued to bless the ministry. When the roof collapsed, we had to depend solely on Jesus. Pastor Miller could have closed the doors but instead she sought after the Lord. She is truly a soldier for the Lord. Enduring much hardship she has maintained her relationship with the Lord. The vision that God has given is indeed being fulfilled. Proverbs 29:18 states that "Where there is no vision, the people perish…"
